Development is the only response to violence: PM Modi in Bhilai

After the inauguration of a slew of projects in Chattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that development was the only solution to all kinds of violence and conspiracy.PM stressed the importance of ‘development’ during the inauguration function of the modern expansion of Bhilai Steel Plant, which he further added that would strengthen the foundation of a ‘New India’.

“Bhilai not only made steel but also lives, society and the country. This new modern and converted steel plant will now work to strengthen the foundation of New India. You all have experienced how the picture changed after the establishment of the steel plant,” said the Prime Minister.

PM Narendra Modi hailed the upcoming IIT Bhilai Campus, built at a cost of about Rs.1100 crore, as a ‘pilgrimage’ centre for technology and technical education for students in the state as well as in the entire country. He emphasised on the works done by BJP for the tribals when he mentioned about the strict implementation of Forest Rights Act and also tribal communities being provided with a title of more than 20 lakh acres in the last 4 years.

Prime Minister said that the BJP government was working to increase the income and to ensure quality education of the Tribals in Chattisgarh. He mentioned the Ekalavya Vidyalayas aimed to raise the level of education among tribal children. The opening of bank accounts by 130 million people under Jan Dhan Yojana was also let known by him to the people.

Lauding the positive effect of Gram Swaraj campaign, the PM highlighted that the government had constructed more than 37 lakh toilets and 22 lakh poor families had got free gas connections under the Ujjwala Yojana Scheme in Chattisgarh.

The Prime Minister explained that the Grama Swaraj Campaign had very positive effects in the last two months and that those campaigns were being run especially in 115 districts of the country which were lagging behind in development and that it included 12 districts of Chattisgarh.

Modi said that the vision of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was being carried forward by Chattisgarh CM Raman Singh, lauding the fast-paced development in Chattisgarh.”Earlier where there were no roads, now airports are being constructed along with roads.”, he said hinting that unprecedented efforts were being made by the BJP government to boost connectivity in the state.

He termed ‘Naya Raipur’ as the country’s first greenfield smart city and that the city would serve as an example for smart cities across the country. The government was spending Rs.3000 crores to construct more hospitals, schools, roads and toilets in Chhattisgarh, said PM.

PM informed the public that the air services between Raipur and Jagdalpur have been made operational while the work on Bharat Net Phase 2 in the state has begun.

The second visit to Modi in Chhattisgarh comes ahead of the assembly elections scheduled to be held in the state later this year.
