Release my son, want to celebrate Eid with him:Army Jawan’s mother’s plea

Indian Army rifleman Aurangzeb was on his way home to Rajouri, while he was abducted by terrorists at Pulwama on Thursday and later got killed. During the Holy Month of Ramazan, when the families celebrate togetherness along with their near and dear ones, all that Aurangzeb wanted was to meet his mother, convey his wishes and spend some time with her. But the terrorists blindfolded by hatred never heard even that Jawan’s mother’s plea to let her son go as she wanted to celebrate Eid with him.

Those who fight against the state in the name of religion gave scant value to that mother’s wail “Allah ke liye usey chhod do, uske saath Eid manana chahti hun main (please release my son for God’s sake, I want to celebrate Eid with him).”Their fight against the state had been also against the God it seemed when Aurangzeb’s body was found from Pulwama’s Gusoo on Thursday. He had been shot in his head and neck.

Aurangzeb’s family has a patriotic tradition of serving their nation with his father, a retired army person, Aurangzeb’s uncle who had died in the line of duty fighting terrorists in 2004 and his brother is also an Indian Army soldier.

Aurangzeb belonged to 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light infantry and was posted at the 44 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Shadimarg in Shopian.

Indian Army men had taken a lift for Aurangzeb in a car at around 9 AM, Thursday, after asking the driver to drop him in Shopian. But the vehicle was intercepted by the militants near Kalampora and they abducted Aurangzeb.

Aurangzeb was given a patriotic send-off by the Indian Army and his wreath-laying ceremony took place on Friday.
