Bhasha Singh, journalist and writer, has started off a new controversy after she made some anti-India comments in a function held in Dubai. She said she is coming from a country where democracy and religious plurality is being threatened. Consulate General of India, Vipul, in protest against her controversial remarks left the stage soon.
There were already some allegations spreading that some of the activists from India have been using occasions like these to defame the face of the democratically elected government in India. This has caused some unrest among the Indian expats who live in harmony.

Vipul Singh, who’s turn came after Bhasha Singh’s speech, marked his strong protest against India being criticised in another country. He reminded the audience that Indian democracy has the strength to correct mistakes and move ahead in the right direction. But then, M.P of Muslim League also used his eloquence to strongly criticise India and it is then that Indian Consulate General of India Vipul chose to exit the function.
