In a terrible suicide attack which happened outside Nangarhar Provincial Governor’s office in the capital Jalalabad, close to the Indian Consulate, on June 17, 14 people were killed and 45 wounded. This is the second one in a row suspected to cast a shadow over the unprecedented ceasefire.

Though the Afghan security source maintained that the death toll was 10, Nangarhar provincial Governor’s spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani told AFP that 14 were dead and 45 wounded. He said that the suicide bomber on foot had targeted Taliban, local elders and civilians as they left the governor’s compound after attending a special Eid function.
A suicide attack on a gathering of Taliban, security forces and civilians happened on Saturday which took 36 lives and wounded 65 others. This also happened in the Eastern province of Afghanistan where the Jalalabad, the recent blast area is also situated.ISIS’s Afghanistan franchisee claimed responsibility for Saturday’s attack.
