In the wee hours of today’s morning flight, a mysterious bomb threat was called in, paning the flight officials.
Low-cost carrier IndiGo was today warned of a bomb on a Jaipur-Mumbai flight that was already in the air.
IndiGo’s call centre received the call at around 5:30 this morning from an unidentified person. The person told the airline that there was a bomb threat to the 6E 218 flight, which operates between Jaipur and Mumbai.

The flight had already departed when the call was received. According to flight tracker FlightStats, the flight’s scheduled departure is at 5:05 am; it lands in Mumbai at 7 am.
“We immediately reported the matter to Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) and followed all laid down security protocols,” IndiGo said in a statement.
The bomb threat was analysed and was classified as a “specific bomb threat”, IndiGo further said. Investigations, however, found the call to be essentially a hoax.
“Following the clearance by the authorities, operations will be resumed as normal,” IndiGo said.
