Saifuddin Soz and Gulam Nabi Azad had courted controversy through their comments on Jammu and Kashmir. As a reward for that, the duo has been embroiled in a legal quagmire set up by Shashi Bhushan, an advocate.
Bhushan has filed a plea at a magisterial court in Delhi, seeking action against the Congress politicians for offenses under Sections 124(Sedition), 120B(Criminal Conspiracy) and 505(1)(spreading rumour about Army/Navy/Air Force official which is likely to cause mutiny)of the IPC. The complainant has alleged that those remarks painted Indian Army as the killers of innocents, which is “nothing less than waging war against the country”.
The hearing will be on Saturday.

Shashi Bhushan has said in his plea that on June 22, in a TV interview Gulam Nabi Azad had allegedly said the “Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir was killing more civilians than terrorists during military operations in the state”.
Saifuddin Soz, on the other hand, as a prelude to the release of his book on Kashmir had seconded former Pak President Pervez Musharraf’s statement that Kashmir should be independent.

Soz’s statement was,”Musharraf said Kashmiris don’t want to merge with Pakistan, their first choice is independence. The statement was true then and remains true now also. I say the same but I know that it is not possible.
