Shashi Tharoor may have had a sigh of relief when he got anticipatory bail in connection with his wife’s death, but then he was forbidden from travelling out of the country. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has slipped in a jibe at Tharoor’s situation saying that Shashi Tharoor cannot leave India and therefore won’t be able to see all his girlfriends. He made this comment during an interview with ANI.
Yes, he can’t go out of the country and see all his girlfriends in various parts of the world: Subramanian Swamy to ANI on a Delhi Court directing Shashi Tharoor not to travel abroad without prior permission of the court #SunandaPushkar pic.twitter.com/UY4dYEIggz

Shashi Tharoor’s wife, Sunanda Pushkar, was found dead in a Delhi hotel on January 17, 2014. In May this year, the city police charged the Lok Sabha MP under IPC sections 498A (a husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide).
Tharoor said the charge sheet was “preposterous”. He was asked to appear in court this Saturday.
In his plea, he said the Special Investigation Team had categorically stated that the probe was over, that a charge sheet had been filed, and that his custodial interrogation wasn’t required.
Yesterday, the court reserved its order on Tharoor’s bail plea, saying he might flee the country. But the MP got bail today on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
