A man, identified as Dinesh Saini, on Saturday made a call threatening a bomb blast at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in the capital city.
Dinesh was arrested by the police after he made a call to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje‘s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) threatening a blast at PM Modi’s rally.

The accused is said to be mentally disturbed. Recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered to tighten-up the security cover of PM Modi in the wake of an “all-time high” threat to the Prime Minister. The Ministry said there has been an “unknown threat” to Modi, who is the “most valuable target” in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The police in Pune told a court on June 7 that they had seized a “letter” from the Delhi residence of one of the five people arrested for having alleged “links” with the banned CPI (Maoist). The purported letter allegedly mentioned of a plan to “assassinate” Modi in “another Rajiv Gandhi-type incident”, the police had told the court.
