In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old woman from Russia was allegedly gang raped at the temple town of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu.
The victim, who is in India as a tourist, was found unconscious at her room in a private guest house on July 16. She was reportedly seriously injured in the assault by at least three persons.
The inspector of police Mangayarkarasi told that the 21-year-old girl came to Tiruvannamalai on July 12. She rented a room in a guest house for Rs 200 per day. She also hired a two-wheeler for sightseeing purpose. However, barely after three days in the city, she was found lying bare and unconscious in her room on Monday.
Mangayarkarasi said that the person, who runs the guest house and two others allegedly molested her and attempted to rape. The Tiruvannamalai town police later shifted her to the government hospital where she has by now regained consciousness.

The guest house proprietor has taken the guest house on lease from its owner, who is in Malaysia.
The locals had alerted the police about the incident. The police inquiries thereon revealed that she was sexually assaulted.
It is yet unknown how the 21-year-old became unconscious in her room. According to the police, the injuries she sustained werr minor. However, Mangayarkarasi said that her blood samples have been sent to Chennai for lab test.
