Modi refused to give any assurance on Sabari rail project but promised to arrange a talk with the central railway ministry. Modi said he will make his final call on Kasturirangan report after consulting it with other states.

Speaking to media persons after meeting Modi, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Prime Minister’s response on matters related to Kerala has not been positive. Pinarayi termed Modi’s stand on ration quota as “depressing.” He said that the Centre backtracked on its stand on Kanjikode coach factory and that the State has not received any assurance in this regard.

“The Union Minister had earlier informed the State government that the Centre has not abandoned the project. However, we came to know that the Centre changed its stand now,” Pinarayi said.
