In a shocking turn of events, a minor student was murdered by his schoolmates in his school campus.
A 17-year-old boy studying at a government school in Delhi succumbed to his injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by a bunch of students in the school premises, said police on Thursday. The incident had occurred a day before, on Wednesday, following a fight among students at Jyoti Nagar’s S.K.V school, said media reports.
By the time police was informed and they arrived, the victim, Gaurav, was lying fatally injured, said a police officer. “His brother Gobinda took him to GTB Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” he said.

Police said Gaurav, a class X student, stayed with his family in Babarpur and had gone to see his class teacher when the incident allegedly took place. “A murder case has been registered. While some students are being questioned, the cause of death will be ascertained only after the autopsy,” he was quoted as saying by media.
Juvenile crime has been on the rise lately. A couple of days ago, a 19-year-old boy killed his friend and set his body ablaze for his smartphone in Hyderabad. Police said Sagar picked up Prem from Uppal and then took him to an isolated place in Adibatla on the pretext of a long drive. After a scuffle, he attacked Prem with a stick and later set the body afire.
Earlier this year, a Class IX student was found unconscious in the washroom of a school in northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas. He was rushed to the GTB Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, police said. Parents of the 14-year-old boy had alleged that he was beaten up by some students and left to die in the washroom.
