Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is apparently “not pleased” with Rahul Gandhi’s “theatrics” when he walked across the Well of the House to hug Prime Minister Narendra Modi and followed it with a wink at his fellow Congress MP.
Urging the lawmakers to maintain the decorum and sanctity of the House, the speaker chastised the Congress chief. “The manner in which it was done was not right. I didn’t like it too,” the Speaker said.
Mahajan said she was taken by surprise and couldn’t understand what was happening. She specifically referred to Rahul’s wink, calling it ” aankh chamkana”, and said it was inappropriate and against the dignity of the House.

Modi had a thing or two to say about Gandhi’s hug, too.
No one, he said, could seat the Congress president in the prime minister’s chair. Remember that Gandhi actually left the opposition benches and walked over to Modi’s seat to embrace him.
“Only 1.25 billion people can make you sit here or make you get up. What is the hurry [to become prime minister?]” Modi asked.
All this happened just before a trust vote — one that Modi’s NDA government won comfortably.
