The Nair Service Society General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair has said that the controversial part in novelist Harish’s novel Meesha deserves protest and is painful. He said the idea of justifying such writings in the name of ‘Freedom of expression’ cannot be justified.
The intention of Hindu woman visiting temple was questioned by the novelist. All those who rally in support of the novelist have different political motives. Some people are desperate to prove to the world that they are modernists and said that such an attitude will only bring more trouble.
He said novelists have the responsibility to guide the society in the right direction and they should not create disturbance in the society. Just because Hindus are a tolerant set of people, it doesn’t mean You can take them for granted and say whatever you want. The fact that this novel is published in itself is an embarrassment to Kerala, said G Sukumaran Nair.
