Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M. Karunanidhi has suffered “a slight decline” in his health due to age related ailments, the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai said in a stage-related July 26.
“He is currently being treated for fever due to urinary tract infection with intravenous antibiotics and fluids,” the hospital said. He is being “monitored and treated round the clock… at his home”.
Considering his medical condition, the team of doctors treating him had strongly advised restriction of visitors, the statement added.
