Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has clarified its stand on Lavalin case. The agency said that Pinarayi Vijayan should face trial and that without the knowledge of Pinarayi Vijayan, no change in the Lavalin Agreement was possible.

CBI said that the high court verdict was made without considering all the facts. It affirmed that there are strong evidence against other accused like Kasthuriranga Iyer, R Sivadas and that they should face trial in the court.
It was on August 23, 2017, that Pinarayi Vijayan, K Mohanachandran, A Francis were acquitted from the charges by High Court.
