In cricket, the fitness of a player has now become the paramount factor in them finding a place in the national squad. To judge a player’s fitness, several cricket boards, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has made it mandatory for the players to clear the Yo-Yo fitness test.
Recently, the English cricket team attempted the Yo-Yo test to prove their fitness ahead of the of the five-match series against India. The team posted a video on their official Instagram account in which Alastair Cook and James Anderson were seen taking the test together. The pacer managed to run between both the set points without any effort, however, batsman Cook found it bit difficult as he almost collapsed by the end of it.
Cook was then patted on the back by teammates for his attempt.
