BJP Leader P S Sreedharan Pillai will get his second term as the President of Kerala BJP. The formal announcement was made by BJP President Amit Shah. He has also led the party from 2003-2006.

The post of BJP President fell vacant as Kummanam Rajasekharan was elected as Mizoram Governor. There was some grunt among BJP leaders in the selection as V Muraleedharan and PK Krishnadas factions had suggested different names. However, after a lot of argument, Sreedharan Pillai’s name was taken by the national leadership.
Some of the other names which were suggested included K Surendran, PK Krishnadas, AN Radhakrishnan and MT Ramesh but there was no unanimous decision taken.
