A gang of robbers stole not only cash, but the entire ATM booth has been cleaned out by them.
A gang of robbers walked away with an entire ATM machine in Bihar on Sunday night after being unable to cut the machine and extricate the cash. Authorities said the ATM had Rs 1.76 lakhs stored in it when it was robbed.
Police said the robbers raided the ATM booth located at Masaurhi town in Patna district on late Sunday night and first tried to extricate the huge cash but after being unable to lay their hands on the cash, they finally uprooted the machine and sped away on their vehicle. A normal ATM machine weighs around 200 kgs.
They also took away the entire CCTV camera set and the hard disk before fleeing the scene in a bid to destroy the evidence.

According to the police, the number of robbers could be around 12 who had come riding a pick-up van. Given the modus operandi, the police believe a professional gang was involved in the robbery.
“We think a well-established professional gang was involved in the crime. We have the information that the gang is moving on cars or commercial vehicles,” a local senior police official Rajendra Kumar Bheel told the media on Monday.
Police said the gang was currently active in Barh, Bihta, Beur, Bakhtiyarpur and Masaurhi localities of Patna district and in the current month itself, the gang had targeted as many as five ATMs and robbed more than Rs 3.2 lakhs.
