Kawasaki Ninja 200 Will Soon be Here. Should Bajaj Pulsar and KTM RC 200 be Worried?

Japanese Motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki is reportedly developing a 200cc motorcycle, probably the Ninja 200, for the Indian market, according to a report by Japanese business journal, the Nikkei Asian Review. The journal further claims that Kawasaki is looking to ramp up production at its plant in Chakan, Maharashtra, to around 10,000 motorcycles a year, as it aims to make India an export hub for markets like Africa and Latin America.

After separating with Bajaj in April 2017, Kawasaki began operations at its own 10,000 sq m plant in Chakan, Maharashtra in 2017. Operations prior to this involved assembling its 250 cc – 650 cc bikes at a plant leased from Bajaj Auto. Kawasaki now even makes its 1000cc Ninja at the Maharashtra plant.
