Swara Bhasker, known for her performances in films like ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ and ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, is one of the most outspoken Bollywood celebrities. The actress rarely ever holds back on using her voice for the right cause.
Swara also hasn’t shied away from calling out the government for various issues, which has in turn made her a constant target for the right-wing trolls, who even called for a boycott of her last film ‘Veere Di Wedding’ when she had asked her co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in joining her to the placard protests against the Kathua and Unnao rapes.
The trolls were at it again, as in the wake of the recent Muzaffarpur shelter home rapes, they demanded why Swara and her Bollywood friends are not holding a placard-protest this time. A few news channels also joined the bandwagon in blaming Swara for her lack of reaction.

Some of Swara’s friends and fans thus came out have come in her support, demanding why the trolls are not asking the government for their maintained silence over these rapes.
The tweets translated into the hashtag #SwaraMustResign, which satirically implied that Swara is indeed the Prime Minister of India and she should resign from office over her silence.
Here are some of the tweets that called for Swara’s ‘resignation’.
