India Loses the Game But Wind Hearts With Hardik Panday’s Kind Gesture

lost the game but won the hearts becomes a reality in Hardik's case

While India lost the match and was not impressed with Hardik Pandey’s role as the all-rounder at Edgbaston, and there are talks about his role and position in the side, his heartwarming gesture is winning the internet after the team’s 31-run loss in the series opener.

The incident took place after the fourth day’s play when Pandya along with teammates Ishant Sharma and KL Rahul was returning to the hotel. The all-rounder was the last to enter the hotel and went straight to the concierge. As per a report published in an international daily, this is what Hardik Pandya told the staff: “This parcel contains food which wasn’t even touched by us when we dined… Please give it to anybody who comes in the hotel’s vicinity asking for food (which is a regular occurrence at night)… It has been packed for that person.”

Meanwhile, after India’s heartbreaking loss to England in the first Test, questions are being raised over Hardik’s role in the Indian squad. Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding has even said that Indian does not need Hardik Pandya as a bowler.

“Why not pick a batsman (instead)? Pandya got a few runs in the second innings but is he a better batsman than Pujara? I don’t think so, and you don’t need him as a bowler in my eyes,” Holding told a sports news channel
