Two youngsters, including a teenager from Hyderabad, were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for their alleged conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts in the country.
On August 6, the NIA officials searched seven different places in the city for leads in a terror module busted in 2016 and since then they had questioned more than a dozen youth at their Begumpet office here
The arrested persons were Mohammed Abdullah Basith, (24) from Hafeezbaba Nagar and Mohammed Abdul Qadeer (19) of Chandrayangutta here.
Officials said that the accused were arrested to ascertain the details of the ongoing conspiracy and also their role played in furthering the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Hyderabad.

“Initial questioning done so far has brought out the involvement of accused Basith, Qadeer and other associates pledging their allegiance to the proscribed terrorist organization ISIS to carry out terror activities in the country,” officials of the investigation agency said.
On January 28,2016, the NIA, New Delhi registered a case against Sheikh Azhar ul Islam, Mohammed Farhan Shaikh and Adnan Hassan for the allegations that the trio and their other unknown associates were members of ISIS and were involved in a conspiracy to identify, motivate, radicalise, recruit and train Indian Muslim youth on behalf of the proscribed outfit ISIS to carry out terror activities.
All the three accused were subsequently arrested by NIA.
After completion of the investigation, NIA filed charge-sheet July 25, 2016, against the said three accused persons in the NIA Special Court, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi.
During the trial, Sheikh Azhar ul Islam and Mohammed Farhan Shaikh pleaded guilty and were sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, while trial against accused Adnan Hassan is still going on.
Further investigation was also continued against other accused persons, officials said.
During the course of the investigation, a fresh input was received from sources that Basith, who was connected with accused Adnan Hassan and some of his associates are in regular touch and were conspiring to further the activities of ISIS, a proscribed terrorist organisation in the country.
“In continuation of the same, searches were conducted at seven places August 6 in Hyderabad and a lot of incriminating material was recovered from their possession,” officials said, adding that same has been sent to CFSL Hyderabad for analysis and data extraction.
Sources said that some explosive materials and arms were allegedly seized from them.
