Oppo Realme 2 Teased Before Launch. This is What We Know About It

Realme recently broke away from parent company Oppo to become a brand on its own and it seems the company is eager to hit the ground running. The newly-separated brand has now teased the launch of its second smartphone, after the Realme 1, which could be dubbed the Realme 2. The teaser – with the title ‘A Notch Above’ – is already up on Realme’s website and reveals that the phone will sport a display notch and the same diamond cut back design, in a new Blue colour option. The phone is also seen to have a horizontally stacked dual rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

No specification details are available, however. But since it may feature a notch, the screen is expected to sport a full HD+ resolution with 19:9 aspect ratio. Despite a single camera, the Realme 1 has a software-enabled depth effect mode. Realme 2, meanwhile, is expected to feature a dedicated depth sensor.

While the phone does look like a promising upgrade from the Realme 1 already, it will be the pricing again which will decide its success. This is given the fact that we have a bunch of smartphones from key players that are fighting it out in the Rs 10,000-20,000 price bracket.Realme is currently headed by Sky Li, who has previously worked as the overseas head for Oppo. He is credited with having helped the Chinese phone giant grow from just 3 markets initially to presence in over 31 countries and regions.
