The economic assistance will only be provided after intense scrutiny of the claim. This was announced by Revenue minister E Chandrasekharan. Now, this might sound like a long procedure but from the government’s perspective, this cannot be avoided.

The minister said that it is difficult to ascertain the exact calculations about the extent of loss at this moment. The biggest challenge in front of the government was rescuing the lives of the citizens. It has been done. He added that help will be extended to not just people who went to relief camps but everyone who suffered loss. The CPI leader said that there are 928015 people still in the relief camps.
