Dr Shamsheer Vayalil , one of the richest Indians in the Middle East, has promised a donation of Rs 50 cr (Dh26 million) to the flood-ravaged Kerala.
Kerala-born Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, founder and managing director of UAE-based VPS Healthcare, has vowed to help rebuild important infrastructure in the worst-hit areas of the State.

Roads will need to be rebuilt, along with water management facilities, health centres and schools – with the donation from Dr Vayalil. The restoration works will begin as soon as it is safe to do so.
“This money will be spent throughout the state of Kerala,” said Dr Vayalil, 41, in an interview with The National.
