Kerala’s rescue operation had assistance from all corners but one of the pillars of its operation was the fishermen. They had the boats, they had the courage and they had a good soul to go out there and do it even risking their own lives.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan congratulated the fishermen who took part in the rescue mission and offered Rs 3000 to each of them along with a promise to repair the damaged boats. But one among those brave fishermen, Khayis Muhammad has now come up with a response to this offer that is winning the hearts of people across the world. Watch the video here:
Khayis said he doesn’t need any remuneration for saving his own brothers and sisters. The brave man said he felt a lot proud when the chief minister said that the fishermen are his army. He humbly denied the money and added that the decision to repair the boats are well appreciated as it is their means of earning their daily bread.
