A BJP worker was allegedly killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday morning. Shabir Ahmad Bhat,26, was abducted by unidentified gunmen while he was on way to his home in Pulwama from Srinagar on Tuesday evening.“Bhat was abducted yesterday (Tuesday). His bullet-riddled body was found earlier this morning,” the police said. According to sources, Bhat was also provided with armed guards for protection.

He had left for Pulwama on Tuesday evening to celebrate Eid at his native place. He was abducted close to his home in Pulwama. His dead body was recovered from Litter village. “We are investigating the circumstances of the killing of BJP leader,” a senior police officer said. In a series of tweets, BJP President Amit Shah condoled Mr Bhat’s death by saying that extremists cannot stop the youth of Kashmir from choosing a better future for themselves.
“Anguished to learn about the killing of BJP karyakarta, Shabir Ahmad Bhat by terrorists in Pulwama (J&K). This act of cowardice is highly condemnable. Extremists cannot stop the youth of Kashmir from choosing a better future for themselves. This cycle of violence won’t last long,” Mr Shah tweeted.
Last year, a 30-year-old BJP youth wing leader belonging to the BJP was allegedly killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.
