A 30-year-old rickshaw puller was assaulted and then stabbed to death by unidentified men after he had a quarrel with them under the Moolchand flyover in southeast Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. The police are trying to identify the suspects.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Dhani Ram, a resident of Jharkhand while he was homeless in Delhi.
” We received a police control room call at Lajpat Nagar police station around 1 pm informing about a man lying under the flyover in a pool of blood. Following which a team was sent to the spot near the U-turn from Sunder Nagar side,” said Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy commissioner of police (southeast).
During the initial investigation, it has been found that two to three men had an argument with Ram, following which they indulged into a fight.
“Later, the men took out a sharp metallic object and stabbed Ram in his neck. Seeing him bleed, the accused fled the spot,” said Biswal.
Police said that the passer-bys told them that they had seen some men running away from the spot. That is when they rushed to the flyover and found Ram lying injured there.
