The Delhi police crime branch on Thursday busted a gang involved in making fake birth certificates. Three members of the gang – Rajiv Kumar alias Raju, Anupam and Karan have been arrested.
The trio hails from New Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. According to the crime branch, the trio is in collusion with members of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in making the fake birth certificates. A fake certificate costs anything between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000.

In the past two years, the three accused have made 500 birth certificates. The crime branch on Thursday recovered 15 fake birth certificates and 20 blank certificates, along with computers and stationery.
The trio has been remanded in police custody, and the crime branch is working to see who within the MCD is helping them.
