In Uttarakhand, 12 people died after consuming illicit liquor in Haridwar today. The incident took place in Baalpur, Bhalsya, Kheri, Bindu and a village adjoining Uttar Pradesh.
13 officers and employees of the excise department have been suspended following the incident. At least 40 villagers are still in a critical condition and have been admitted to hospitals.
