Tamil Superstar and Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan had initiated what could be a controversy by saying “free India’s first terrorist was a Hindu,”. He was referring to Nathuram Godse who shot down Mahatma Gandhi in 1948. Malayalam movie director Ali Akbar, in a series of Facebook posts, replied to Kamal Hassan’s statement.
“Kamal Hassan, I LIke Godse more than you. Because both who got killed(Mahatma Gandhi) and the killer had the same prayer- ‘RamaRajyam’ wrote Ali on his Facebook.
But his comments have now given rise to some serious criticisms and demands that a case might be taken against Ali Akbar. People have even called Ali a traitor. The veteran director, in yet another Facebook, has replied to the comments.
“There is no religion to the terrorism that blasts itself, but Godse has religion. If i speak about this, I am called a traitor. So be it”
