BJP claims party worker shot at for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was shot at in Baruipur in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The 38-year-old, Ramprasad Mondal was shot at in the right foot in the Jayatalla area, near his house on Thursday.

The saffron party has alleged that Ramprasad Mondal was shot at as he has been chanting Jai Shri Ram for past few days, especially during the Durga Puja.

The family alleges that the Trinamool Congress had raised objections over his chanting of Jai Shri Ram.
South 24 Parganas (East) district president Sunip Das has alleged that the TMC has been threatened after the rise of the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls and the local TMC leaders have been harassing the BJP workers regularly.

Nimai Mondal, bother of the Ramprasad said, “I went out for a while and when I came back, I found my brother sitting with his leg injured. He said that he had been shot. I had a fight with a group of people about the fund for Durga Puja. They probably attacked my brother. Also, my brother used to chant ‘Jay Shri Ram’ on the streets which might also be another reason. He has previously been attacked twice.”

Ramprasad Mondal has been admitted Baruipur hospital for his treatment..
