Tamil Nadu government today rejected the mercy plea of 7 convicts of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit rejected the mercy plea of the convicts saying ‘Not inclined to agree with the Cabinet’s recommendation’.Earlier the Supreme Court had asked the Tamil Nadu Governor to consider the mercy petition of the 7 convicts in the 1991 Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
