It is 20 years after the release of the Hollywood film Gladiator, revered as the manliest movie ever made. Russel Crowe who portrayed the fallen Roman general Maximus Aurelius in the movie had made many hunks weep in the darkness of theater halls. Russel again made moviegoers rejoice with his limit setting performances in A Beautiful mind, Mummy, and Noah. But two days ago he stood at the lobby of Sydney airport in Australia almost unrecognizable- he had aged, no more a hunk definitely, but more like a sumo wrestler.
The Oscar-winning actor was caught sticking his hands down the back of his track pants while waiting at the restaurant Bar Roma. Crowe’s assistant was seen next to him equally tired, browsing a phone. Crowe reportedly was heading to his farm at Nana Glen in northern New South Wales. It’s unclear if Crowe’s weight gain is for a role. He is, however, currently filming “The Georgetown Project,” according to IMDb and is in post-production of “Unhinged.”
