Record-breaking severe rain accompanied by thunderstorm had claimed at least 30 lives in southeastern Brazil, said a Civil defense official in Minas Gerais.
Seventeen people are reported to be missing, seven injured, and some 3,500 have been forced to relocate to more safe grounds following a series of landslides and house collapses, Civil Defense officials said.
