Shocking ; Another gang-rape terrifies kochi by Migrant labourers !!!!

Kochi: In a distressing incident, 6 migrant workers gang-raped a 14-year-old girl in Kochi. Three of the accused were arrested. The remaining accused are not yet captured .The six men from Uttar Pradesh had been working in Kerala. The accused used to take up carpentry work and other jobs to sustain a living. They used to stay in Manjummel area of Kochi. It is suspected that three of the accused have escaped to their native place.

Three arrested persons were identified as Shahid, Farhad Khan and Haneefa. The victim used to stay in the same village as the accused. The 14-year-old girl who stays with her grandmother opened about the abuse during a counselling session arranged by her school. After learning about the girl’s condition, her grandmother took her to a doctor who helped her in contacting the cops. As per the reports, the girl was sexually assaulted by the accused on multiple occasions. The accused allegedly threatened the minor girl and forcibly took her to their home.

An officer deployed at the Eloor police station told that, “The other three people had fled to their home towns during the lockdown. The incident first took place in March, when the lockdown was imposed.” The case was transferred to the Ernakulam Central station and the accused were booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO) and the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ Act).The Kerala Police also asked the Uttar Pradesh Police for help in arresting the remaining three accused.
