Indian Railways to get 2,600 smart coaches fitted with fault detection system

Ensuring safer and secure travel for passengers, Indian Railways will convert over 2,000 coaches into smart versions to monitor the condition of the wheels, bearings of the train and the condition of the track on a real-time basis.

Equipped with advanced sensors, smart coaches will have the predictive maintenance system to detect track defects preventing derailments.
