Uttar Pradesh : A woman living in Amroha, was shot dead by her husband’s uncle on Wednesday. The woman, who was on her way to a court hearing, had suffered threat from her husband’s family last year. The expired woman was identified as Iram alias Amreen. The woman was shot dead at Machrai Road in Amroha. After the incident, the police arrested 5 persons, including the woman’s father-in-law Arif Sufi.
On the day of the incident, the woman was on her way to a court hearing when her husband’s uncle opened fire at her. After the incident, the police recovered the bike and pistol used by the accused. Last year, a video of Amreen went viral on social media. In the video, Amreen was seen accusing 63-year-old Akil Hussain of harassing her. Hussain runs a cloth showroom. The woman claimed in the video that Hussain should be held responsible if anything happened to her,the media reported.
The woman stated that she had also been beaten up by her in-laws. Amreen had returned to her parents’ home around two years ago after she had an argument with her husband. She filed a complaint in court against her in-laws but no concrete action was taken.
Initial investigation revealed that the woman had been in a relationship with Furkaan. Furkan is Akil’s son-in-law. A few days ago, Furkan’s wife, identified as Shayara had an argument with Amreen when she learned about the illicit affair. Upset with Amreen’s decision of not leaving Furkan, his family decided to eliminate her. Furkan allegedly approached Mohsi and Farooq to kill Amreen and the two men shot her twice, killing her on the spot.
