World’s longest flight resuming operations and is set to become longer. Know more details

The world’s longest flight from the US to Singapore will soon resume operations and the total flight time is set to become longer. Singapore Airlines’ journey from Singapore and Newark airport in New Jersey has been the longest passenger flight for quite some time now. The official flight time stands at 18. But now, the flight’s final destination will be New York’s JFK airport, meaning the total distance and duration will go up. Before the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of operations on March 23, the flight used to cover a total distance of 15343 km in 18 hours.  But now, the total distance covered by it will be 15347 km.

The flight will take 18 hours, 5 mins to reach JFK airport from Singapore and 18 hours, 40 minutes to reach Singapore from JFK. The flight is an Airbus A350-900 with 187 economy seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 42 business class seats. Although the number of bookings will almost certainly not be as high as before, the airlines are expecting a good demand for their cargo operations. As for the total number of passengers on board, Singapore Airlines is still not sure about how many people will be allowed onboard due to the ongoing restrictions. Flight operations between Singapore and New York will resume from November 9, according to reports.
