US Election 2020:- Four more states in the US vote for marijuana legalization

New Delhi: After Oregon, four more states in the United States have approved marijuana legalization for medical and recreational use. The four states are-Arizona, New Jersey, South Dakota, and Mississippi. A large number of voters in New Jersey and Arizona have approved the measures to legalize cannabis for recreational purposes. In South Dakota, the voters approved one of the two marijuana ballot measures for medical use. In New Jersey, the state legislature will have to draft a new law to give detail on how the state plans to implement the policy, according to a report in ABC News.  Meanwhile, in Arizona, the state’s health department will formulate the policy on drug use.

In the state of Mississippi, the majority of voters said yes on the ballot to approve the medical use of marijuana for patients with debilitating conditions. Prior to the ongoing elections, 11 US states including the District of Columbia already approved the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.  Oregon becomes the first US state to legalize psychedelic mushrooms; Arizona legalizes recreational marijuana.  Due to ‘high’ demand, marijuana vending machines are being rolled out in the US. With votes still being counted in South Dakota, the result of the second ballot measure for the legalization of recreational marijuana use will be known soon.  While Montana had a recreational ballot measure.
