“On Farmers Day, I greet farmers of the country,” said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

In the middle of the farmers’ protest, India is celebrating Chaudhary Charan Singh’s Jayanti.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “On Farmers Day, I greet farmers of the country. They have provided the country with food security. Some farmers are agitating against farm laws. Govt is holding talks with them with full sensitivity. I hope that they’ll end their agitation soon.”

Congress MP K Suresh said, “The fact that the Kerala Governor has not allowed a special session of the State Assembly to convene for the discussion of the farmers’ issues, is an undemocratic & anti-constitutional act. It is very unfortunate.” Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, “Tributes to Chaudhary Charan Singh ji on his birth anniversary! Today, under the BJP’s rule, the country’s history is witnessing such a Farmers’ Day when the farmers are forced to struggle on the streets, instead of celebrating. The BJP should stop insulting the farmers because the farmer of the country is the pride of India.”
