In boxing, Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen has entered the semi finals of women’s 51kg category in Bosphorus Boxing Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey. Nikhat Zareen defeated two-time world champion Nazym Kyzaibay of Kazakhstan. Zareen registered 4-1 win over Kyzaibay.
Zareen had earlier defeated 2019 world champion Ekaterina Paltceva of Russia in the pre-quarterfinals. Zareen has ensured herself at least a bronze medal.
2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Gaurav Solanki has also entered the 57 Kg semifinals after beating local pugilist Aykol Mizan 4-1. Solanki has also assured himself of at least a bronze medal.
However, Sonia Lather (57kg), Parveen (60kg) and Jyoti (69kg) made exits with losses in their respective quarter final encounters.
