The state administration has sent a letter to the central government, indicating the willingness to assume the K-Rail project’s debt. After the Central Government confirmed that it could not take over the loan, Kerala wrote the letter.
Principal Secretary for Transport, KR Jyotilal, has written to the Union Finance Ministry to clarify the decision, which the Finance Ministry has approved. The project would be funded using a loan of Rs 33,700 crore.
