Haryana CM says, retired Agniveers to be given guaranteed government jobs.

Agniveers will be given guaranteed jobs in the state government after serving in the armed forces for four years, according to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. ‘Those who want to get Haryana Govt jobs will be given guaranteed jobs. Those who want can get inducted into any cadre for Group C jobs. Otherwise, we have jobs in police, which will be given to them,’ Khattar said.

The announcement comes just days after Khattar stated that when Agniveers, who were recruited in the military through the Agnipath scheme, are relieved after four years of duty, they will be given priority in government jobs. Agniveers would be given well, the CM stated last Wednesday (June 15), adding that they would be given Rs 4.76 lakh in the first year, rising to Rs 6.96 lakh the next year.

‘When they return after four years, they will be given around Rs 12 lakh. They will be given other benefits, allowances, and insurance,’ he had assured. The announcement of the Agnipath scheme on Tuesday sparked violent protests across the country, with angry defence job seekers demanding its cancellation, citing the scheme’s brief four-year term for 75% of recruits.

Several amendments and support measures have been announced by the Centre and BJP-ruled states in recent days to allay apprehensions about the recruitment plan and pacify protesters.
