Thiruvananthapuram: The win percentage of the higher secondary examinations (Plus Two) stood at 83.7% for the academic year of 2021-22. The results were announced by General Education Minister V Sivankutty at 11:00 am. He informed that the SAY exams will be held from July 25.
The pass percentages for the different streams are: Science (86.14%), Commerce (85.69%), Humanities (76.65%). The pass percentage of Govt schools is 81.72% while aided and unaided schools are 86.02 and 81.12percentages respectively. The overall pass percentage has reduced compared to the previous year. In 2021, it was 87.94 with 3,28,702 candidates qualifying for higher education.
As many as 3,61,091 students appeared for the exams in 2,028 schools in the regular stream. Out of them, 3,02,865 cleared the exams. Kozhikode marked the highest pass percentage with 87.79% of students clearing for higher studies while Wayanad marked the lowest with 75.07%. As many as 78 schools recorded 100% pass. Malappuram has the highest number of students who scored A+ grade in all subjects.
A focus area from the syllabus was set for the exam. There were no grace marks for the extra-curricular activities this year. Minister congratulated all students who cleared eligibility for higher education. He thanked the officials and teachers for their cooperation to finish the exam and evaluation as per schedule.
