The first train under the Bharat Gaurav Train Project which connects India and Nepal by the railroad will launch on June 21, according to Indian Railways. The train will travel around the Ramayana Circuit, which has been designated under the Swadesh Darshan initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, linking holy sites significant to Lord Ram’s life. It would connect the two holy towns of Ayodhya and Janakpur in India and Nepal across a distance of 8,000 kilometres. It is the first train operated by Indian Railways to traverse foreign boundaries and encourage tourism.
The AC tourist train will be run with the aid of a corporate business partner who will be in charge of offering the passengers both on-board and off-board amenities, such as lodging, food, and local sightseeing.
The Alambagh Coach Factory in Lucknow renovated the 14 coaches of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train. It currently has some of the best-in-class services and amenities, including bedroll facilities, visually pleasing interiors, a kitchen car, and onboard security.
‘The tourists will be offered strict vegetarian meals, freshly cooked on board. The train will have an infotainment system, and CCTV cameras and guards will ensure security on board’, an IRCTC official said.
