The leader of the 27-nation bloc’s executive said on Wednesday in an annual policy speech that the Western Balkan countries, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia are necessary for the European Union to be complete.
Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, addressed the EU’s eastern neighbours, saying, ‘You are a part of our family, you are the future of our union.’
‘Without you, Our Union is not complete,’ she added.
