An explosion early Saturday morning at a block of flats on the island of Jersey, off the coast of northern France, killed three people and left a dozen others missing.
‘We now have three fatalities,’ Robin Smith, Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police, said at a press conference.
The explosion happened shortly before 0400 GMT, and the fire has since been put out. Smith stated that emergency personnel will continue to hunt for survivors throughout the night.
