According to police, a 29-year-old Nagpur resident lost Rs 6.16 lakh to a cyber fraudster after clicking on a link given to his WhatsApp account. Last month, the victim, a Khamla resident, received a WhatsApp call.
The caller, a lady, asked him to verify corporate information by providing him a link. According to them, when he clicked on the link, a total of Rs 6.16 lakh was deducted from his bank account.
Police had filed a report, and further investigation was underway.
