In an inspiring address to the Malayali diaspora at Times Square, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared that hope has triumphed over despondency in Kerala. Reflecting on the past seven years, he emphasized his role in leading a society that was once engulfed in doom towards a path of development.
Noting Kerala’s exceptional track record of fulfilling promises made during elections, Vijayan highlighted the state’s progress in various sectors. He proudly mentioned K-FON, Kerala’s own internet service provider, and the ongoing construction of the coastal and hill highways. Vijayan also commended Kerala’s reputation as a less corrupt state and its success in effectively managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event saw the participation of notable personalities, including Finance Minister KN Balagopal and MP Jose K Mani, while cultural programs added to the celebration. After his engagement in the United States, the chief minister is scheduled to meet with World Bank representatives in Washington DC and then proceed to Cuba before returning to Kerala via Dubai on June 19.
